Richard Lewis has received the gift of life not once, but twice. Diagnosed with kidney disease in 2004, he got a life-saving transplant in 2005 from his sister, Keyia. Years later, that kidney began to fail, sending him back to dialysis and onto the waiting list again. In 2017, a grieving mother chose to donate her son’s organs, giving Richard a second transplant and a renewed chance to live, and to honor his donor’s legacy.
